Today, the BS Industrial Engineering program at the University of the Philippines Diliman College of Engineering has reached a significant milestone. After undergoing a thorough three-day accreditation process overseen by the Philippine Technological Council-Accreditation and Certification Board for Engineering and Technology (PTC-ACBET), the program stands poised for greater recognition and excellence.
Chancellor Edgardo Carlo L. Vistan, Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs Maria Vanessa Lusung-Oyzon, Vice Chancellor for Administration Adeline Pacia, Dean of the College of Engineering Maria Antonia Tanchuling, and the 48th Program Evaluation Team, spearheaded by Team Chair Dr. Cynthia L. Posadas and Program Evaluator Dr. Dennis Anthony A. Kilong-Kilong, with Program Evaluator on Training Engr. Lourdes Lasian, EAC Chair Dr. May Rose C. Imperial, PTC President Federico Monsada, and ACBET Chair Dr. Lydia Tansinsin, as observers were in attendance at the opening ceremony on April 24, 2024.
To officially conclude the accreditation visit, three Program Evaluation Team members presented the Exit Statement Report. This was succeeded by closing remarks from Vice Chancellor for Administration Adeline Pacia and a concluding message from ACBET Chairperson Dr. Lydia Tansinin.
Going through the accreditation process underscores the College’s dedication to meeting international standards, ensuring that its graduates are well-equipped for success in the engineering field. This accreditation is expected to elevate the global standing of the College of Engineering and further manifest its commitment to nurturing highly skilled engineers. We eagerly anticipate the release of the accreditation results within the year.
