Dear UP IEORD Faculty, Students, and Friends,
I’d like to welcome everyone to the new academic year!
This year, The IE Department aspires to secure more collaborations with the industry partners for us to strengthen the industry component of our degree programs. This would allow us to give more practical experience,, industry solutions and opportunities to our students.
In this 1st Semester, we hope to bring back the Industrial Engineering Days! The IE Days is poised to give you a week-long set of events that aim to bring closer all members of the IE Department. I hope everyone participates and enjoy the event!
Finally, I would also like to remind all current students to complete your registration so as not to incur deficiencies in the next semester. Please ensure that you have your enrollment status in CRS enrolled.

After the midyear break, the registration for classes that started last August 14 marked the beginning of the new academic year 2024-2025. By this time, we hope everyone has completed their registration and been learning and enjoying their 3 weeks of classes. Welcome back to all the members of the UPD FamIEly!
Distinguished IE Alumnus Ramon Jocson Guests in Kaizen: Blitzing Your IE Career Podcast
Former VP and Chief Operations Officer of the Bank of the Philippine Islands (BPI), Ramon “Mon” Jocson, was the most recent guest of the Kaizen: Blitzing Your IE Career Podcast. In the podcast, Mon discussed how he navigated his career from university life, working at IBM, becoming COO at BPI, and becoming a consultant and director in various companies – giving many tups to the audience during the discussion. Mon is also a Director at Palawan Pawnshop, a Director of the Globe Group, and the Chairman of BankWare Asia. Kaizen: Blitzing Your IE Career Podcast is the UPD Industrial Engineering Podcast hosted by Mr. Janni Boydon.
UPD FamIEly Congratulates UPLB DIE on the BOR Approval of their MSIE Program
Congratulations to the UP Los Baños Department of Industrial Engineering on the approval of their Master of Science in Industrial Engineering Program, by the Board of Regents. The UPLB MSIE program is designed to meet the needs of industry and academia in CALABARZON by offering graduate-level coursework that advances IE approaches and enhances techniques for solving industrial problem efficiently and effectively.

– Asst. Professor Regine A. Tejada for being awarded her PhD scholarship by the Engineering Research and Development for Technology and for being accepted by the University of Sydney for PhD in Engineering.
– Inst. Cylene Sabio for presenting her paper entitled, “The Application of Internet of Things (IoTs) in the Philippines: Fine Points from the Philippine Development Plan (PDP) 2023-2028”, Asian Internet Engineering Conference (AINTEC) 2024 last August 9, 2024.
