Dear UP IEORD Faculty, Students, and Friends,
First of all, I would like to thank everyone who participated in our PTC-ACBET Accreditation visit last April 24-26, 2024. It was indeed a very productive visit from our assessors as we have learned a lot of things that can help improve not only our BS IE program but also the Department as well. We really appreciate everyone who made time for the interviews! Such great help! The result is expected to come out after around 6 months.
We are now in the last stretch of our 2nd Semester for the regular classes. I hope for all students to focus and be able to pass their exams. The SWELL Room is open for your study sessions. If students would need additional rooms for studying or for waiting in between classes, please let us know. Our
administrative staff have been instructed to accommodate such requests given the availability of rooms.

UPD IEORD Assessed by PTC-ACBET for Accreditation
The UPD Industrial Engineering and Operations Research Department (UPD IEORD) was visited on April 24-26, 2024 by the Philippine Technological Council-Accreditation and Certification Board for Engineering and Technology (PTC-ACBET) for accreditation assessment. Undergoing the accreditation process is part of the commitment of the UPD IEORD to continuously provide basic and advanced knowledge and skills for our future global engineers. The results of the accreditation will be provided within the year.

Won 2nd Place at the 2024 OR Quiz
Our team of 3rd and 4th year students placed 2nd at the Operations Research Society of the Philippines – Student Federation OR Quiz held on April 27, 2024 at the Adamson University. The 4th Year students of the team were Paul Rainer De Villa, Nazka Leosala, and Steven Jon Milay, while the 3rd Year students were Timothy Paul Angeles and Dandy Nuevo. Instructors Jason Fernandez and Cylene Sabio coached the team.

– Professor Irs Ann G. Martinez for participating at the UP Los Baños Industrial Engineering Department 25th Anniversary by delivering a lecture talk about Innovative Approaches to Engineering Education held last April 22, 2024.
