I hope everyone has taken considerable rest over the midyear and I hope everyone is ready for the 1st Semester AY2024-2025. As we approach the regular registration period, I just would like to welcome our FreshIEs who will be part of the IE Department Family starting this 1st Semester.
Let me also take this opportunity to remind everyone that under the IE Department, during the regular registration period, there are no pre-assigned advisers, rather, any faculty member can be your registration adviser. Congratulations to the 2024 UPD IE Graduates!
The “113th Pangkalahatang Pagtatapos”, or the UP Diliman General Commencement Exercises, was held on July 28, 2024 with Former Senator and Esteemed Student Leader Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan addressing the graduating class of 2024. Also, the UPD College of Engineering Recognition Rites was held on July 30 with Engr. Maria Belinda C. San Jose, Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer of the Social Security System delivering the inspirational talk. The IEORD congratulates the graduates, especially the UPD Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and Master of Engineering Class of 2024!
IEORD Welcomed FreshIEs and Parents at FreshIE Orientation
The department welcomed its FreshIEs and their parents on July 15, 2024, at the FreshIE Orientation. The orientation was held simultaneously with the IEORD General Assembly
“Kaizen: Blitzing your IE Career” Podcast Launched
Last July, our department launched the Kaizen: Blitzing your IE Career Podcast, hosted by our lecturer Janni Boydon. Four episodes of the podcast have so far been aired, with the following esteemed guests interviewed in each episode: Benjamin Azada (Executive Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Converge ICT Solutions), Jimbo Reverente (Senior Lecturer on Innovation at UP Diliman and Former Undersecretary of the Department of Finance), Maribel Cusi-San Jose (Senior Vice President for the IT Management Group of the SSS), and Ramon Jocson (former VP and Chief Operations Officer at the Bank of the Philippine Islands.) Please watch out for more exciting episodes.
Celebrating the Class of 2024 at the IE Grad Dinner
On July 26, 2024, the UPD Industrial Engineering Alumni Association, the Industrial Engineering and Operations Research Department, and the Alliance of Industrial Engineering Students jointly hosted the IE Grad Dinner in honor of UPD IE Class of 2024.
