Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare, set up, and maintain laboratory equipment, instruments, materials, and supplies for instructional, research, and extension activities.
- Ensure laboratory facilities, equipment, and tools are functional, safe, and properly stored after use.
- Conduct routine inspection, calibration, troubleshooting, and preventive maintenance of laboratory equipment and coordinate necessary repairs.
- Maintain accurate inventories, utilization records, and status reports of laboratory equipment, tools, materials, and supplies.
- Monitor laboratory supply levels and assist in the procurement, inspection, and acceptance of laboratory equipment and materials.
- Provide technical assistance to faculty, researchers, students, and laboratory users in the proper operation of laboratory facilities and equipment.
- Enforce laboratory safety policies and ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental regulations, including proper handling and disposal of hazardous materials.
- Maintain laboratory documentation, including logs, manuals, maintenance records, incident reports, and other relevant files.
- Coordinate with suppliers, contractors, and service providers for equipment maintenance, repairs, technical support, and related laboratory requirements.
- Support accreditation, quality assurance, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives, and perform other related duties as assigned by the IE Department Chair or Laboratory Head.
